Our Honeymoon in Islamorada

After our ceremony, Madison went to stay with Grandma Carla for the night with Destiny Lee and then to Lisa's on Saturday while we headed south bound for Islamorada in the Florida Keys. We arrived around 9:30 p.m. went for one drink and headed back to crash so we had plenty of rest for our fishing trip in the morning. We headed out around 7:15 a.m. for Backwater fishing and from the boat was able to see an amazing sunrise! Yes...I will brag.....I caught the first fish for the day (long standing joke with the fishermen in our family). Mark....sorry...I could not duplicate your happy dance. Although I caught the first fish Travis not only caught the biggest fish, he caught a SHARK!!!! All morning we were catching sea trout and then Travis caught a baby jack. The captain cut his dorsal fin off on one side and hooked him to a larger reel and just let it sit. Just like in Jaws, we heard..click...click...click. Travis grabbed the pole and after a good fight brought a 60 pound nurse shark along side the boat. It was amazing and what a rush! We were able to bend over the side a pet the shark before releasing it. It was like touching prickly leather. The trip was successful and we ended up catching 70 sea trout.

After the trip was over we had the captain fillet a few fish and brought it to a restaurant to have it cooked. Travis was brave and even tried it! After we headed to Holiday Isles to catch some rays
(too many rays) and have some cocktails. We lucked out and got ocean front lounge chairs and sat between two of the nicest couples. MANY drinks later we all decided to have dinner together and watch the sunset. Sunday morning we did a little shopping and fed tarpon at a marina and headed home. It was the perfect weekend!

Our Second Wedding!

Well as many of you know us the best; know that we have been through ups and downs the past two years. In the end we have come out on top happier than we have ever been. On Friday, Travis and I were remarried by Carla (our newly adopted "South Florida Mom") and joined by our closest friends "The Bilbao's". It turned out rather funny and almost a deja vu of our first wedding day. In the morning there were beautiful blue skies and by 5 p.m. the sky turned black and the rain began to come down in buckets! Lisa and the gang drove to the park where we were going to have our little ceremony but just as she pulled up the park ranger came and locked the gates. Travis and I then drove to a different park and the rain gave us a temporary break. Once everyone arrived we walked to a lake and Carla proceeded to say the vows we had prepared. As we said "I do" the rain began to fall. After a few drops came down we headed back to the parking lot for what ended up being a "tail gate reception" due to the lack to picnic tables at the park. Our friends really went put of their way to make what was something small into something meaningful and big at heart. They provided a bouquet of flowers, a mini wedding cake, champagne toasts and a ton of love! The moment as comical as it was could not have been more perfect. We are truly blessed to have people like this in our lives and appreciate all the support they have given us over the past two years.

Student of the month

Yesterday Madison was given student of the month at her school. It was a surprise so she was shocked to come into the chapel and see Travis and I sitting there. We were so proud of her and it melted my heart to see her face when they called her name out. I was not quick enough to get a picture of it but she put her arms up with fists clinched like she was saying "YES" to herself as she was smiling ear to ear! She ran up on stage to get her certificate and kept giving us the thumbs up. Before they called her up they tell a little about the child they are about to call up. During this they did say she has one sister.....yes that right we were shocked too. I had to ask Travis if there was a kid I need to know about! We asked her later if she told them she has a sister and she said "Yes, cause I do".......

Doggy Doctor

Last week Madison had to dress up for school in what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be a doggy doctor.

Catching up on Grammy's visit

Madison learning where Quatar is on the map

Luch visit with Marion

Grandma's old house

Boat ride with dad

Mom was here a couple weekends ago and we had such a good time. Above are some of the pictures recapping the trip. I will say that the most disturbing part of the trip was seeing the color the people living in Grandma's old house painted it!!! For one I think its horrible and two it just weighed heavy on my heart to not see the same house I remember!!!

Madison's new big girl bed

A few weeks ago we were lucky enough to get Madison a new "big girl" bed compliments of Mimi and Papa. We originally were going to get her a double bed so that she could grow into it but wen we found the set we liked they told us it was the same price for a queen size. YES....I know what you all are thinking because we were thinking the same thing..."why does a 3 year old need a queen size bed". Answer....it will double as our guest room when family comes into town. Grammy was here when we picked it out and surprised Madi with a new bed spread and sheet set as an early birthday present since she will not be here in May. Madison loves it and does not complain about going to bed or that her bed is uncomfortable any more!!!! All three of us want to thank Mimi, Papa and Grammy!!! We love you all!
