First beach trip of the season
Sunday Madi and I joined Nancy and Sammy at the beach. The sand bar kept out what waves there were (Calm day) so Madi and Sam could "snorkel" around looking for shells and fish under the water. The weather and water were perfect!
Grandma's Amaryllis
It finally bloomed after almost 9 years!!! Yes, this is a picture that has been a long time coming. The plant was one that we dug up in my Grandmas yard right before her house was sold and she moved up north. There have been many times that I though for sure it was dead but it seems to have 9 lives just like a cat. It never has bloomed until now. It could not have come at a better time and brought the biggest smile to my face! I ran inside and immediately called mom!

Travis' Redfish
Travis has been going backwater fishing quite a bit with his friend Vince. He has gone so many times and has been frustrated because he has yet to catch anything. FINALLY...the other day he went and caught a 5 1/2 pound redfish. Thought we would share.
When the kids are away...the adults will play
Saturday we were kid free because of WONDERFUL Grandma Carla (Lisa's mom). The four of us went on a drift boat charter for the afternoon. We had high hopes of bringing home dinner but quickly realized that was not going to be a reality. Lisa caught the only fish out of the group (pic above). It was I think called a ramora..the sucker fish that attach themselves to the underside of sharks. Even though we did not catch anything it was great to get out in the ocean and enjoy the great weather. I personally caught something that no one else did.....seagull poop on my head!!!
Missing you Ma!
The final part of our trip was not included below because I felt it deserves a spot of it's own. That weekend was the last weekend we were able to spend with mom as she has now left for Qatar to be with Mark. It was a bitter sweet trip for me with emotional highs and lows (unfortunately mom felt the wrath of some of those...sorry) but was time well spent. I would not have changed it for the world!!! I am missing her tremendously and am trying not to picture her being half was around the world from me and just imagine her and Mark are on one of their many adventures as they never stay in one place for more than a few weeks. It has been easier than I originally thought and can call her when ever I need to...time change permitting...THANK YOU VONAGE!!!
Her hugs and kisses and my constant crisis outreaches to her have created a small void but I know that when they are back to visit every moment will be cherished!!!! I LOVE YOU MA!!!
Easter Weekend in Amelia Island
Madison actually took this picture of us!!!
Auntie Mar
Madi, Nicole and Matt
I know this is a very late posting but I have been very busy lately. We spent Easter Weekend in Amelia Island and had a great time spending it with the family. Katherine and Mark came down with the kiddies and Mar came in town from Charleston. It was great to not only have the family together but to also have the kids get together. It is not done nearly as much as I would like. Madi was so happy and I think for the first time comprehended what her "cousins" meant!!!
