Liam loving life......

ahem.....I mean his swing! Yes, this is his new favorite thing. He looks up at the mobile above and smile and talks away. While he is loving this...I am getting pooped (thought I would use a nice word)!
I can't complain in the way of how blessed I am to have a great family but life now is sooooo busy. Between at least three doctors appointments a week between myself and the kids, physical therapy for my foot (next weeks I start three times a week), and trying to keep up at school...not to mention picking up around the house (cleaning can wait :) ) and then trying to get sleep and spend time with each kid and Travis....Zzzzzzzzz....oops sorry I dozed off there for a moment. Concentrating is becoming more and more difficult as well as having any type of memory. I hope Liam starts sleeping thorough the night sooner than later as that would help ALOT!!!!! I miss sharing nights with mom.
That being said...I am off to bed for an hour or two to regenerate and then hit the books for a few hours and then off to get the kids from Rose and go shopping for the graduation after party food and get Madison ready for the ceremony DEEP BREATH. Wish me luck!
One last thing....first big test last night i got an 84. Not too bad but not great either as she has made it clear that this would be the easiest test this semester.

Liam loves his big sister

Madi was singing to him making him smile
I don't know who is in awe of who??
tummy time under blankets

Yesterday I survived my first day alone with two kids! Two of my own that is. I have to say I am exausted...not because of Liam I dont think but because Madison was is rare form and non stop yesterday. Wait a minute....she is always non stop! I managed to take a shower in time for the photographer to come to the house for Liam's free picture before 9 a.m., sterilize all bottles, get Madison dressed, do a load of laundry and get both kids in the bath and in bed by 9! I now tons of people do this every day but now that Mom is gone, I am trying this on my own routine :) Yes...I have been spoiled by mom.
This brings me to my next point. Lots of tears since she has been gone. I miss her so much and value all the time we had to spend together. I am so greatful that she was able to be here to witness the birth and many of Liam's first's. This time has been priceless to me and to the rest of the family. Thank you mom....I love you!

I forgot to post....

Liam had cereal for the first time on Wednesday. He loved it and screamed when it was all gone. I was trying it out because he was only lasting two hours at night. I figured if I give him one teaspoon at night we can see how it goes. He went 4 hours between feedings :)

Our little girl is off to Kindergarten...sigh

Well it's official.....no more preschool tuition!!!! Never thought this day would come so soon. Madison's last day of school was Friday and her official cap and gown graduation is this coming Friday. She is very excited she is going to Kindergarten but she wishes she did not have to get shots to do so. Yes, we had the 5 year check up this morning along with 4 shots and a finger stick. She is 3ft 9in in the 90th percentile and 47 pounds, also in the 90th. She did fail her hearing test on the right side due to fluid build up we have been dealing with for some time. He did say it is as thick as glue now so I will need to prioritize the ENT doctor appt. As a funny last note as tears were rolling down her face she looked at me and said I wish we could throw away all needles. I told her unfortunately we can not so she then said...well then I wish there were no needles in Florida and they only had them in Georgia, Maryland and where Grammy lives......I had to laugh!

Where there's a window there's a way!

Looking out the window
Taking a bath

I thought I would take a few shots of Liam's favorite thing to do....look outside..or be outside!
Whenever he is fussy all we need to do is walk him to a window or take him outside and he is content. He loves looking out the front window over our shoulder and also stares out the window at the lake while he takes a bath. What a life!

Grammy look alike

Yesterday while Grammy was at the store, Madison and I had fun with her glasses :) We tried to get one of Liam but he would not cooperate!

Our little BIG man

Last night we reached a milestone. Liam slept in his crib for the first time. It was sad for me as he has always slept next to me since he has been born as well as been with me for 9 months when I was pregnant. As most mothers do...every squeak that he made, I jumped up to check to see if he was O.K.
I addition to the crib......he is now wearing his 3-6 month pajamas. Poor little guy looked like he was wearing spandex from the 80's in his others so up in the attic we went to bring down the 3-6 month clothes. Man....he is growing like a weed!

The latest saga in the Kane house

We have had an eventful few days. Liam's fever spiked after my last post to 100.3. We are told 100.4 is the cut off for a baby his age so we were told to take him to the ER because it was after hours on Monday night. After arriving and being greeted by the rudest physician I have ever met we were told that Liam would need a full sepsis work up. This we assumed would be a CBC and U/A. Much to our dismay we were told this also includes a spinal tap. At his point I freaked out and did some quick speed dialing to Mom, Jen and the pediatrician. I was told by the pediatrician that yes, he does need one but that they are not as invasive as in an adult. Still hesitant, we conceded and the poor muffin had one. Long story short....at 2:00 a.m. we were discharged and told all tests were O.K. and he did not have spinal meningitis. SCORE!!! Yesterday we followed up at the pediatrician office and were told he probably contracted a bug from somewhere and is fighting it. This....I can deal with.

I started school again last night with my very last class until I graduate!!! I have put off Anatomy and Physiology 2 until the very end as I dread every moment of its existence. I will admit that it did not seem too bad last night. Tonight is the lab so we will see how that goes. I have to endure this for 6 weeks and then I am done!!!!!! Yes, I Celine will have an A.S. in Health Information Management!!!

Mom and I are laying low today. I have some reading to do for school and she is finally listening and doing nothing today!

5 weeks old

Hanging out over grammy's shoulder
Yoda ears

Morning Yoohoo

Liams first stickers
Hard to believe five weeks have gone by! We have been learnign what Liam likes and what he does not. He LOVES going outside. When he gets fussy all you need to do is walk him out to the patio or as Grammy does take him to the lake on the swing and he is in heaven! He just perks up and looks around at everything. I think he knows he is a Florida boy :) Madison is still happy and told us yesteday she needs to know how to do everything in Liam's room so out came the diapers, blankets, bibs and boppy slip cover...too funny! She gave him his first two stickers on his hands (Camp Rock guitars) and was very proud that he could participate in this activity...Ha!
We have had quite the time the past three days with him and going #2 as well as him spitting up a majority of each of his bottles. We have gone from 4oz to 2 to 3oz each feeding....still with alot of spit ups. I called the doctor this morning after a rough night about his stools being hard as a rock and it takes him all day to get just a little out. We were told to give him Karo syrup in one bottle so we will try that and see how it goes. After fussing all morning he felt hot so out came the thermometer......man....I did not miss having to do that as Madi got older! 99.5 so we are going to keep an eye on him. Got him down for a nap finally...poor little guy has been so restless.

Nature at it's best!

Her sunflowers are growing
Collage made after our walk/ride
Madi got sunflowers to grow from Auntie Mar when she was here last weekend. They are already sprouting. She has been taking very good care of them.
Each morning mom and I have been going on a three mile walk after Madison heads off to school with Liam (trying to loos those prego pounds). Madison went with us Saturday (she rode her bike) and she came up with the idea after picking me flowers along the way that she wanted to get flowers of all colors and tape them to a paper when she got home. Her final creation is above...I thought it was beautiful!!!

Hi Everyone...just thought I would share our two babies...each at three weeks of age. Madison is to the left and Liam is to the right. To me it is unbelieveable how much they look alike in the pictures and still now(Double chin, the nose, the hair line and eventhe eyes)!!! I had to go get this picture done of him at the same age so we can hang side by side.
