Our little soccer player

Coach Brian giving lessons

Last night was Madison's first soccer practice. I was a little bummed because I had class but managed to catch the last 15 minutes of it. She could not sit still out on the field of course which made us all laugh but for her first time she did great! Her one downfall is trying to stop the ball with her hands and not her feet. She might end up as the goalie by default :))

A moment to relax

After a busy weekend we all went to the beach yesterday for a little while to help unwind. The weather was beautiful but the water was like ice! Not sure how Travis could stand to wade in that deep to fish???

Grandma

This weekend Mom, Aunt Nettie and Marielle came into town and Grandmas service was Saturday. It was a beautiful service and we were surprised by all the people who showed up. Friday was an extra special day as the four of us plus Madison were able to go and spread her ashes at her parents grave site as well as in the church garden (picture above). She is right where she wants to be and needs to be which makes us all so very happy. She will be missed but always loved and a part of us.

Baby brothers room is started!

Madi wanted to paint the room so bad!

Travis (and Madi) painted the babys room yesterday. It is not done but the major part is finished. Where you see the white line between the light and dark blue will be a chocolate brown chair rail. We have a brown recliner and crib....so yes...the "theme" is blue and brown with burnt red accents (I have a mobile of antique red fire trucks). Very exciting to say the least. I can't wait to get the walls done so that I can start to organize things. :) Nesting has begun!!!!

Diva!

Saturday, Jennifer and I took the girls to Libby Lu's for a make over while Travis was painting the baby's room. They are going out of business and it is half off everything. Madi chose to be a princess. Surprisingly the hair do lasted all day!

My sweet Grandma

Today has turned out to be a very sad day. I am sad to write that my Grandma has passed away. The picture above is the last picture I have of her taken back in November. You cant help but smile just looking at her beautiful face. She has always been a huge part of my life and will continue to be. I am trying to be strong in front of Madison as I am not sure I want to tell her what has happened as she has been through too much death this year and still talks about it daily. My catch phrase for the past two hours has been "mommy's allergies are acting up". I have never felt a mix of emotions like this before. In one way I am happy that she is finally with God where she has wanted to be for a while but at the same time the selfish side of me does not want to loose the most wonderful person that has been in my life. Anyone who crossed her path was truly blessed. I love you Grandma!!!

Quick update

Since Wednesday I have been experiencing a lot of cramping and what seemed to be contractions. I called the doctors office and yesterday went in. After a quick exam and being hooked up to the monitor, they said I had two contractions and that I was not crazy!!! Finally....confirmation!
I had to drop off some tests at the hospital and they sent me home on bed rest and lots of fluids. I found out today that the tests were negative for pre term labor which is a huge relief!!!! Still have not heard from the doctor himself but I will go back to work Monday and see them at my normal appt Monday as well. Kind of scary but we are lucky it is nothing to be alarmed about.
We have finally registered at Babies R Us so its nice to have that completed. We now just need to get the room painted and start setting things up! School started for me again this week so I have spent the day at home getting assignments done. As much as I say I would love a day at home alone...I am getting very ancy and can not relax. Madison is signed up for soccer and starts in another week. She is very excited!

Amazing sunset

Last night we had an amazing sunset!!! I got a new camera fr Christmas and this was my forst attempt at sunset shots with it. I think they turned out pretty good!
Not sure if you can see the spot of a boat in the lake just up from the bush? That was Travis and Shawn out fishing.

Prego pic

A lot of people are asking me to post a picture of me now that I show. You can see in others below I just look HUGE!!! Yes, I could take a picture of myself but I am not that happy with my appearance. This picture I think is the best that I can show where you can see a bump and I don't look 300 pounds!
25 weeks and counting. He is moving around all the time but is so low and is in my back making for some pretty rough afternoons. My siatic is killing me by noon every day! I never had this with Madison. I guess this is what people refer to as a "back pregnancy"????
We think we have a name but we are thinking of keeping it quiet. We thought we had settled on "Mason" but I think it is too close to Madison.
If another picture happens to come along that is flattering on all angles I will consider posting :)

Christmas and New Years

Destiny Lee's new pet snake....yikes!

Here are some pics from our holidays. Dad came down from Georgia and spent the week of Christmas with us and we had a great time. Madison made him promise to go back to Georgia and sell his house right away and he can come live in her room with her... :)
We spent New Years down the street at Rose's house and we all actually made it to see the ball drop!!! First time for me in almost 6 years!
